Applied Philosophy of Consciousness-Relevant Systems
Abstract
This monograph develops an operational philosophical framework for analysingconsciousness-relevant systems under conditions of epistemic uncertainty. Rather thandetermining whether a system is conscious, it specifies the architectural conditions under which asystem becomes relevant to scientific, ethical, or regulatory consideration. The Field–Node–Cockpit(FNC) framework is introduced and applied across biological and artificial domains, includingdisorders of consciousness, neurodiversity, artificial self-reference, and AI governance.
