Challenges in Achieving OTIF Excellence in Contemporary Brazil and the Foundations of Logistics 6.0 for 2026
Abstract
The OTIF (On Time In Full) indicator is widely used as a key performance metric in logistics and supply chain management. However, its application in the Brazilian context presents significant structural, operational, and technological limitations that undermine its reliability as a measure of service excellence. This preprint analyzes the main factors that hinder the achievement of consistent and sustainable OTIF performance in Brazil, considering infrastructure constraints, logistics governance, digital maturity, and supply chain integration. Furthermore, it proposes the conceptual foundations of Logistics 6.0 as a governance- and data-driven framework aligned with integrated logistics principles, the SCOR model, and ISO standards, aiming to reposition OTIF as a strategic indicator of supply chain reliability by 2026.
