A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE DEVICES IN THE WORKS OF MARK TWAIN AND KHUDOYBERDI TOKHTABOYEV
Abstract
This study investigates figurative language devices in Mark Twains The Prince and the Pauper and Khudoyberdi Tokhtaboyevs Riding the Yellow Giant, focusing on metaphor, simile, symbolism, hyperbole, personification, and irony. Using previously unpublished examples, the research demonstrates how these devices shape character, emotional perception, and social commentary. Tokhtaboyevs imagery highlights psychological growth and imaginative experience, while Twains figurative constructions serve as social critique. The comparative analysis shows both universal and culturally specific functions of figurative language in childrens literature.
