Etoposide Tethered MCM-41 An Enchanted Way to Target the Lung Cancerous Cells
Abstract
In the present study, a novel core–shell mesoporous silica nanocarrier (MCM‑41) was successfully developed for the controlled delivery of the anticancer drug etoposide. The synthesized nanoparticles exhibited high surface area (≈721.3 m²/g) and large pore volume, enabling efficient drug adsorption and encapsulation. The formulation was designed to enhance therapeutic efficacy while reducing systemic toxicity through controlled and sustained drug release. Physicochemical characterization confirmed successful drug loading, structural integrity, and nanoscale dimensions, indicating the potential of etoposide‑loaded MCM‑41 nanoparticles as a promising platform for lung cancer therapy.
