Oil droplets entrained by breaking waves
Abstract
The uploaded files present sample videos from six representative laboratory experiments (out of 92) on oil entrainment under single focused breaking waves. A controlled amount of oil was released at the water surface to form an oil slick, which was subsequently impacted by breaking waves ranging from spilling to large plunging breakers, leading to droplet entrainment. Video naming convention: SJ denotes spilling wave; PJ1 denotes weak plunging wave; and PJ2 denotes strong plunging wave.
