Abstract

This archive contains the code used to generate the results presented in the paper: “Translational Dynamics of Bridled Kites: A Reduced-Order Model in the Course Reference Frame.” The code implements a reduced-order, quasi-steady translational dynamics model for soft, bridled kites formulated in the course reference frame, including aerodynamic force modelling, tether equilibrium, and control-induced aerodynamic roll effects as described in the paper. The framework is used to simulate crosswind flight and evaluate the dynamic response of the kite under different operating and wind conditions. This Zenodo record provides a frozen snapshot of the software corresponding to the manuscript in order to ensure reproducibility of the published results. The full development repository is private and under active development; therefore, this archive should be considered a reference implementation for the paper rather than a maintained software package. Basic instructions for running the main simulations and reproducing selected figures are provided in the included README file.
