Abstract

“Homecoming of the Self: The Reset Cycle of Endurance, Trust, and Reintegration” presents a neurobiological and existential model of trauma recovery rooted in relational containment. Drawing on the Information Integration Dysfunction (IID) model and the Seven-Loop Shaub System, the paper reframes healing as a recursive, system-wide recalibration—enabled not by intervention, but by the enduring presence of another. It integrates oxytocin and dopamine signaling, autonomic regulation, and trust-based coherence restoration to explain how identity reorganizes after collapse. The work bridges clinical neuroscience, affective psychology, and systems theory with lived experience, offering a map for therapeutic practice and a rare articulation of survival through collapse. At its heart, it is both a theoretical framework and a testament to the human capacity to return.”
