Scripts for evaluating multilayer and big-leaf canopy models for evapotranspiration under water and heat stress
Abstract
This repository contains the scripts associated with our manuscript titled “Multilayer canopy model outperforms big-leaf model for evapotranspiration predictions under high water and heat stress conditions.” The Gap_Filling_Flux_Data folder includes scripts for gap-filling FluxNet data, demonstrated using an example flux tower site. The Prepare_LAI_SAI_Data folder provides scripts to download and process leaf area index (LAI) and stem area index (SAI) data. Scripts for preparing Community Land Model (CLM) forcing inputs from standard FluxNet-style data files are available in the Scripts_to_Prepare_CLM_Forcing_from_Flux_data folder. Folder CLM-ml_v1contains the CLM source code and scripts used for model parameter calibration using the PODS framework, located under the offline_executable subfolder (e.g., script pods_optimize_main_3_11_updated_no_soil_no_root.py). Note that the CLM source code included here is forked from the original repository athttps://github.com/gbonan/CLM-ml_v1. Please refer to that repository for detailed instructions on model compilation and execution.
