Nutritional consumption of phenolic compounds-rich clarified açaí juice (Euterpe oleracea) elicits anxiolytic and antidepressant effects during adolescence in rats
Abstract
This dataset contains the raw experimental data supporting the findings of the study entitled “Nutritional consumption of phenolic compounds-rich clarified açaí juice elicits anxiolytic and antidepressant effects during adolescence in rats”, accepted for publication in Food Research International. The study investigated the behavioral, neurochemical, and oxidative effects of voluntary oral consumption of clarified açaí juice (CAJ) administered at nutritional doses during adolescence (postnatal days 34–43) in male Wistar rats. The dataset includes raw individual values obtained from behavioral tests assessing locomotor activity, anxiety-like and depressive-like behaviors (open field, elevated plus maze, Y-maze, and forced swim test), as well as biochemical analyses performed in brain regions associated with emotional regulation, including the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and amygdala. Specifically, the data comprise measurements of monoamine levels (norepinephrine and serotonin) in the prefrontal cortex and oxidative stress-related parameters, including catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities, nitric oxide levels, and lipid peroxidation (TBARS), in distinct brain regions. Body weight evolution during adolescence is also provided. All data are presented as raw values without prior normalization or statistical processing, allowing full transparency and reproducibility of the analyses reported in the associated publication.
