A Topological Ansatz for the Proton-to-Electron Mass Ratio: mp/me = K3 + K2 −cK = 1836 from Dimensional Scaling in a Discrete K = 12 Vacuum
Abstract
In the Standard Model of particle physics, the mass ratio between the proton and the electron (µ≈ 1836.15) is an empirical constant arising from the arbitrary coupling strengths of the Higgs field. It has no fundamental theoretical derivation. This paper proposes a solution using the Selection-Stitch Model (SSM) [1], which defines mass as “Topological Impedance” within a vacuum lattice of coordination number K = 12. We demonstrate that the proton mass emerges as the sum of Volumetric Displacement (K3) and Braid Tension (9K), yielding a theoretical integer value of 1836. This geometric prediction aligns with CODATA measurements to within 0.008%.
