Abstract

Start-1 is a deterministic causal system for geometric deduplication, residue extraction, and structural compression within the CT framework. START-1 is a deterministic engine for structural deduplication of information streams. It operates without semantics, learning, probability, or interpretation. The system identifies and compacts redundant structures by projecting inputs onto a fixed set of structural invariants, extracting stable “skins” while explicitly preserving irreducible residue. Compression is strictly lossless and monotonic: no information is destroyed, and any element that cannot be merged without loss remains intact. START-1 is designed to operate on groups of correlated inputs. Structural symmetry is a relational property and cannot be detected on isolated items. The algorithm is fully deterministic and idempotent: repeated runs converge to a stable state without introducing new merges. The engine is domain-agnostic and does not encode any semantic or contextual knowledge. All behavior emerges from invariant geometry and structural comparison alone. This release corresponds to Phase 0, establishing a stable and auditable foundation for further causal alignment layers.
