Data Mesh Architecture Applied to Insurance Domain
Abstract
Data Mesh represents a paradigm shift in data architecture, moving away from centralized monolithic data platforms toward a decentralized, domain-oriented approach. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of Data Mesh architecture, examining its core principles, comparing it with traditional approaches like Medallion architecture, and exploring practical implementations across industries. Through detailed use cases in the insurance sector and broader industry applications, we demonstrate both the transformative potential and inherent challenges of Data Mesh. The paper concludes with an analysis of Data Mesh's limitations and its position in the evolving landscape of data architecture patterns, offering insights into future directions for enterprise data management.
