Multiplication in the spleen of BALB/c mice of Brucella militensis double mutant strain Rev1∆fba∆tal (Fba, fructose -biphosphate aldolase; Tal, transaldolase)
Abstract
Mice (n = 5) were intraperitoneally (IP)-infected with 105 Colony Forming Units (CFU)/mouse of Rev1 or Rev1∆fba∆tal and euthanized at one and five weeks post-inoculation (p.i.). Bacterial burden at the spleens was determined by CFU counting and is expressed as mean log10(CFU/spleen) ± SD. Statistical comparisons at each time-point were made by unpaired t-test (** p < 0.01). The experiment was performed twice, obtaining similar results.
