Abstract

(A) Larvae (n = 10) were inoculated with increasing doses (103–107 Colony Forming Units, CFU/larva) of B. suis bv2 and a PBS-injected control. Larva survival was monitored every day by the observation of no movement of the larvae in response to being rolled over themselves. (B) Larvae (n = 5) were inoculated with 106 CFU/larva and bacterial load was assessed by CFU-counting in larva-homogenates on selective medium.
