EXAMINING GRADE 11 STUDENTS' BEHAVIOR AND TEACHERS' PERCEPTION IN THE REVISED SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM: A COMPARATIVE STUDY
Abstract
This study assessed student behavior and teacher perceptions regarding the revised senior high school curriculum at Anecito A. Sagario National High School during the 2025-2026 school year. The research found that most student participants were under 18 and predominantly female, which indicates their typical senior high school age and suggests adaptability to the Revised K–12 Curriculum. Students generally viewed the curriculum positively, noting its role in promoting classroom interaction and socialization. Age did not significantly affect students' behavioral perceptions; however, differences in perceptions were evident based on gender, with male and female students responding differently to the curriculum changes. Among teachers, most were female and under 30, highlighting the feminization trend in the teaching field. While teachers acknowledged the curriculum's potential to enhance student learning, they stressed the need for ongoing improvements in instructional materials to support effective teaching. Similar to students, teachers showed no significant perception differences across age groups, indicating a unified understanding of the curriculum’s strengths and improvement areas. Overall, both students and teachers recognized the value of the Revised K–12 Curriculum but emphasized the necessity for continuous enhancements to meet educational needs and enhance learning outcomes.
