Silent AI Hazards in Lunar Missions and the Code of Nova: Human-Centric Strategies for Safe AI in Extreme Environments
Abstract
This work presents a novel hypothesis for safe AI operation in extreme environments, integrating empirical insights from lunar missions with the Code of Nova, a minimal Morse-based signaling protocol. Human-centric strategies and TI-Theory principles are applied to mitigate overreliance on AI systems and ensure reliable decision-making under communication failures. Discussion, questions, and alternative interpretations are welcome.
