LoRa GPS Tracker: Arduino Cloud Integration for IoT based Remote Tracking
Abstract
This project involves the design and implementation of a long-range LoRa-based GPS tracking system that can transmit real-time location data while consuming very low power. The system uses a GPS module to obtain accurate location information and a LoRa communication module to send this data wirelessly to a distant receiver. Unlike traditional GPS trackers that depend on mobile networks, this system operates independently of cellular or internet coverage. As a result, it is especially suitable for remote and rural areas, where network availability is limited. A microcontroller processes the GPS data and transmits it at regular intervals, ensuring reliable communication and efficient energy usage. The proposed solution is cost-effective, energy-efficient, and easy to deploy. It can be applied in various real-world scenarios such as vehicle tracking, asset monitoring, livestock management, and personal safety. Overall, this project demonstrates how LoRa technology can be effectively combined with GPS to develop a practical and reliable long-distance tracking system.
