Ternary Record Logic (TRL): A Constraint-Based Formalization of Stabilized Meaning
Abstract
This deposit presents Ternary Record Logic (TRL), an operational formalism in which ternary state resolutions become persistent facts only when inscribed into irreversible, constraint-bearing records. While standard ternary logics extend Boolean logic with an additional truth value, they do not by themselves explain persistence, stabilization, or factual commitment under noise. TRL addresses this gap by elevating the record—a persistent, referable inscription of state—as a first-class logical primitive. State resolution and memory formation are treated as inseparable. The deposit includes: A formal paper defining TRL, its axioms, dynamics, failure modes, and scope A vector state-machine diagram illustrating ternary latching (0 → ±1) A minimal executable notebook demonstrating stabilization and hysteresis under noisy input TRL is positioned as a logical and systems-level formalism rather than a physical theory. It provides an executable substrate for analyzing stabilization in measurement, inference, and artificial intelligence, with explicit limitations and testable implications.
