Abstract

This record contains the full supplementary artifact set supporting the paper The Cheese Test: Mapping Failure Geometry Under Epistemic Stress. The uploaded materials document a controlled epistemic-stress experiment in which a conversational AI is subjected to sustained semantic ambiguity (“I like cheese”) in order to map structured failure modes. Rather than treating model breakdown as anecdotal or adversarial, these artifacts demonstrate how conversational collapse follows reproducible trajectories within a conceptual space termed Failure Geometry. Included files comprise: Pruned transcripts and narration scripts used for analysis and voice-over A formal PDF detailing epistemic stress and failure geometry theory A corpus document used as comparative reference material Conceptual figures illustrating attractor lock-in, confidence–capacity mismatch, and persona collapse Audio and video recordings presenting the experiment and analytical walkthrough These materials support a constraint-first, systems-theoretic approach to AI alignment and safety, emphasizing failure as an informative diagnostic signal rather than an error to be suppressed.
