ENGIN: Edge-Native Genomic Inspection Node
Abstract
ENGIN is a real-time genomic filtration protocol designed to perform Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) on FASTQ data streams. It functions as a biological firewall, utilizing a Negative Selection algorithm to minimize storage overhead in clinical sequencing workflows. Methodology: This repository contains the reference implementation (v1.0-Beta) utilizing Whole-Read Exact Matching. Unlike probabilistic filters (Bloom Filters) or sliding-window K-mers, this implementation enforces high-stringency filtration, discarding reads only if they match the host reference database with 100% identity. This approach ensures zero false-positive deletion of foreign/pathogenic data while significantly reducing background noise.
