Abstract

Description This document defines the normative specification of VIL (Virtual Instruction Language). It establishes the mandatory and optional components of a valid VIL contract, the obligations of compliant runtimes, interpretation levels, enforcement modes, conflict resolution rules, resource declarations, feedback and recovery mechanisms, telemetry requirements, schema conformance, and contract integrity guarantees. The specification uses normative language (MUST, SHOULD, MAY) and defines the minimum requirements for a system to claim VIL v1.0 compliance. This document is binding for implementers and auditors. In case of conflict, this specification takes precedence over all other VIL-related publications.
