Abstract

Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly used in universities to strengthen student engagement and learning outcomes through three primary mechanisms: conversational support via generative AI and chatbots, enhanced feedback and formative assessment, and learning analytics systems that enable timely academic guidance. Recent research syntheses classify these applications into adaptive and personalized tutoring, intelligent assessment and academic management, learner profiling and performance prediction, and emerging AI-driven educational tools (Wang et al., 2024). Together, these functions position AI as a central enabler of student-centered learning, continuous feedback, and data-informed educational practice in higher education.
