Abstract

Abstract (English)You may not know what it means to write √0, but you can write it.That is all I intend to present today. This paper explains the concept √1=0 as a conceptual shift: inscription precedes meaning, and number is treated as algebra rather than as a referent. Since Euclid, a linear perception of number has been mainstream; however, pre-Euclidean thought (e.g., Pythagoras) also permits a “potential” or rotational grasp of number. This is my subjective perspective and requires neither validation nor denial. I define mathematics as an academic discipline that gains meaning only when numbers are handled as meaningless algebra. Accordingly, this work reinterprets the language of “linear numbers” visually, symbolically, and sensually as “potential.” This document is not written to alter the perspectives of scholars; it was written to explain these ideas to my child. If the academic community finds utility in it, that is a fortunate outcome. I release it publicly as the culmination of my previous preprints. Supplementary material: dialogue log with the AI “Gemini” (https://gemini.google.com/share/3ace8ee184f9). https://gemini.google.com/share/3ace8ee184f9 Note: The full text is written in Japanese in order to preserve the precise definitions and logical structure specific to the language.
