Abstract

This paper presents a radical reinterpretation of the Michelson-Morley experiment within the framework of Structured Vacuum Theory (TVS). Contrary to the standard geometric interpretation of Special Relativity, we demonstrate that the null result emerges not from spacetime symmetry but from a dynamic physical compensation: material objects physically compress when moving through a structured vacuum medium (V23). The vacuum is modeled as a discrete network of 23 helical channels; matter consists of topological knots in this network. Motion relative to V23 creates a pressure that compresses atomic bonds longitudinally, exactly following the Lorentz factor γ. This real contraction cancels precisely the expected optical path difference, yielding zero fringe shift. TVS reproduces all predictions of Special Relativity while restoring an absolute reference frame (V23) and providing a tangible mechanical ontology. The theory makes distinctive predictions: anisotropic contraction in non-cubic crystals, matter-antimatter asymmetry in compression, and detectable corrections at high velocities. This work bridges foundational physics and materials science, offering testable alternatives to geometric spacetime paradigms.
