METAPHORICAL ACTUALIZATION OF THE CATEGORY OF EMOTIVITY IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK
Abstract
The category of emotivity occupies a central place in linguistic studies as it reflects the ways emotions are conceptualized and expressed through language. One of the most productive means of emotive expression is metaphor, which allows abstract emotional experiences to be understood via concrete and culturally grounded concepts. This article explores the metaphorical actualization of emotivity in English and Uzbek from a comparative linguistic perspective. The study reveals both universal cognitive mechanisms and culture-specific features in the metaphorical representation of emotions in the two languages.
