The central question is simple: Does education cultivate the initiative of understanding,or does it preemptively take it away? This paper does not propose ideal educational models. It identifies the minimal conditions under which initiative can be recovered and preserved. 1. Problem Setting: Why Education Easily Eliminates Initiative Education and training usually begin with good intentions: to make things understandable to reduce failure to guide learners toward correct answers However, in doing so, the following often occurs: judgment updates are executed on behalf of the learner As a result, learners may: feel that they understand yet never exercise initiative 2. Typical Patterns of Initiative Loss in Education Initiative is lost in the following situations: questions are given, not formed reasons are presented, not chosen conclusions are delivered, not appropriated What occurs here is: the delegation of understanding 3. Position Statement of v2.2 v2.2 adopts the following position: Education does not provide understanding. It preserves the position from which initiative can be exercised. Education is support, not substitution. 4. Minimal Conditions for Initiative Recovery In education and training, initiative is recovered only when: judgment updates remain appropriated by the learner Concretely, this requires: space to formulate questions the ability to select reasons the opportunity to re-appropriate outcomes Accuracy and completeness are not required conditions. 5. The Moment “Teaching Too Much” Reclaims Initiative Initiative is lost when: importance is pre-defined reasoning paths are prescribed outcomes alone are evaluated At that moment, education becomes: a shortcut to understandingand a detour around initiative 6. Separating Initiative from Speed Recovering initiative takes time. it is slow indirect inefficient by design v2.2 does not treat this as a flaw. Initiative cannot be exchanged for speed. 7. Position Reached in v2.2 Only one point is fixed in this paper: Education cannot grant initiative. It can only refrain from taking it away. In Understanding Capitalism, education is defined asthe description of conditions under which initiative does not disappear. 8. Questions That Follow How is initiative handled within organizations? Can cooperation recover initiative rather than suppress it? Can social systems tolerate persistent initiative? These questions will be addressed in v2.3 and beyond. Note This paper does not propose pedagogical techniques or curricula. It clarifies the non-delegation condition of initiative in education. Initiative is not taught.Initiative is not delegated.Initiative persists only through exercise.
