Gravity from Universal Phase Coherence: Why All Matter Falls Together
Abstract
We propose that gravitational attraction arises from universal phase coherence: all matter shares a common phase origin (φ₀) inherited from the initial symmetry-breaking event. In Fourier analysis, coherence C_xy(f) = 1 when two signals maintain a constant phase relationship. We demonstrate that if all matter shares the same initial phase — regardless of frequency (mass) — then gravitational interaction follows necessarily from constructive interference. The key insight is the separation of carrier and envelope: each particle oscillates at its Compton frequency ωᵢ = mᵢc²/ℏ (the carrier, determining mass), but all particles share the same envelope phase φ₀ (determining gravitational interaction). At the envelope level, coherence C = 1 for any pair of masses, producing always-constructive interference — hence gravity is always attractive. This provides a physical explanation for the Equivalence Principle, which Einstein assumed but never derived. The absolute value of φ₀ is arbitrary (a gauge choice); its universality is what matters physically. All matter inherited the same phase from common origin, just as all instruments in an orchestra share the same downbeat regardless of the notes they play. The gravitational hierarchy formula ln(m_P/m_e) = (e⁵ + 2π)/3 − 1/27 achieves 99.999% match with measurement. The 2π term represents phase closure — gravity requires complete phase cycles. The framework predicts that antimatter sharing φ₀ would fall normally (consistent with ALPHA-g results), while antimatter with opposite phase (φ₀ + π) would be repelled. v2.0 replaces "Coherent Chirality Superposition" with rigorous Fourier formalism. New sections on carrier-envelope decomposition, clarification that φ₀'s absolute value is arbitrary but universality is physical, and expanded discussion of why coherence persists over cosmological timescales.
