Particle Masses from Icosahedral Geometry: Derivations and Observed Patterns
Abstract
We present particle mass relationships within the Bootstrap framework, distinguishing clearly between derived results and observed patterns. DERIVED: The gravitational hierarchy ln(m_P/m_e) = (e⁵ + 2π)/3 − 1/27 follows from geometric principles, yielding the electron mass from the Planck mass (99.999% match). The proton-electron ratio μ = 6π⁵ = 1836.12 is derived, where π (rather than e) reflects measurement through 2D photon probes — the "photon lens" factor (π/e)⁵ ≈ 2.06 explains why we measure 1836 rather than the intrinsic 3D ratio of ~890 (99.998% match). OBSERVED: Twin prime products at icosahedral boundaries sum to 501: the pairs (5,7), (11,13), (17,19) at thresholds E/D!=5, V−1=11, E−V+1=19 give products 35+143+323=501. The value 501/4 = 125.25 GeV matches the Higgs mass exactly. Similar patterns yield W (323/4 = 80.75 GeV, 0.5% error) and Z (366/4 = 91.5 GeV, 0.3% error) masses. While these electroweak patterns are striking, we lack first-principles derivations explaining why twin products (rather than other combinations) determine masses. This paper documents both established derivations and patterns requiring further investigation. v1.2 restructures the presentation to clearly separate derived results (Part I) from observed patterns (Part II), with explicit discussion of open questions.
