Abstract

Electric charge has historically been treated as an intrinsic property of matter, labeled“positive” or “negative” following conventions introduced by Benjamin Franklin. Whilemathematically effective, this convention has obscured the underlying physicalmechanism behind attraction, repulsion, and electromagnetic continuity. In this paper,Coulomb’s law and Maxwell’s equations are reframed entirely within the Space-Phase(SP3) framework, wherein charge and magnetism are understood not as independententities or forces, but as manifestations of space-phase conditioning imposed by matter.Using conversational explanation grounded in physical intuition—particularly magnetrepulsion and attraction—this paper shows that inverse-square laws, electric andmagnetic unification, and field equations arise naturally as boundary and continuityconditions of structured space. This reframing eliminates action-at-a-distance, clarifies thephysical meaning of “charge,” and provides a unified mechanical intuition spanning fromlaboratory electromagnetism to cosmic-scale stiffness and energy storage.
