Abstract

This preprint proposes an interpretation of the fine-structure constant within the Holistic Informational Quantum Field (HIQF) framework. We treat α\alphaα as an emergent matching ratio between an effective relational impedance of the carrier medium (ZHZ_HZH) and the effective coupling conductance of an informational-quantum (Iq) defect (GIqG_{\mathrm{Iq}}GIq), i.e. α=GIq/ZH\alpha = G_{\mathrm{Iq}}/Z_Hα=GIq/ZH. The measured value α−1≈137.035999\alpha^{-1} \approx 137.035999α−1≈137.035999 is decomposed into an integer electromagnetic channel count NEM∈ZN_{\mathrm{EM}}\in\mathbb{Z}NEM∈Z plus small corrections: polarization δpol\delta_{\mathrm{pol}}δpol and scale dependence (“running”) δrun\delta_{\mathrm{run}}δrun. A minimal topological model illustrates how a plausible local network geometry can yield NEM=137N_{\mathrm{EM}}=137NEM=137 (as a heuristic realization, not a proof). The Appendix provides operational definitions and a small computational sketch aimed at making the proposal algorithmically testable on micrograph realizations.
