Trilithons and Dolmens
Abstract
Abstract:This paper proposes a functional and engineering re-evaluation of megalithic structures, including trilithons, dolmens, and conical stone towers (Nuraghi/Brochs). The author argues that these structures represent a technological progression in the development of long-term food preservation systems. By analyzing the thermal properties of stone masonry and the structural logic of these forms, the study identifies them as components of an ancient global logistics network designed to maintain stable low temperatures for the storage of strategic food reserves
