Major–Minor Regimes and Fractal Phase Transitions Triadic Closure, Structural Gates, and Hidden Polyphony in Meta-Existence
Abstract
We present a metaformal theory of major–minor regimes as fundamental modes of realization in meta-existence. Major and minor are not musical or numerical conventions, but structurally distinct regimes characterized by different orientations of harmonic flow and stability. We introduce the concept of triadic closure as the minimal unit of stable realization and identify structural phase gates (Mi–Fa and Si–Do) as first-order regime transitions. Continuous chromatic refinements correspond to second-order, fractal dimensional evolution. We further show that polyphony and consonance pre-exist in meta-existence as latent, phase-coherent structures, analogous to strict polyphony in contrapuntal music, and become observable only through regime collapse and projection. This framework unifies harmonic structure, qualitative and quantitative change, and evolutionary dynamics within a single phase-based formalism.
