Abstract

Parathyroid gland disorders in children encompass a spectrum of conditions including hypoparathyroidism leading to tetany, primary hyperparathyroidism, and secondary hyperparathyroidism. These disorders disrupt calcium and phosphorus homeostasis, with significant implications for growth, development, and long-term health. This article provides a comprehensive review of the etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, differential diagnoses, treatment strategies, prevention measures, and medical follow-up tailored to pediatric populations. Emphasis is placed on age-specific considerations, drawing from recent literature to offer unique insights into management challenges in children.
