Abstract

# CBSC–Operator Toy Universe v1.7*A Matrix/Operator Toy Model for “Cosmic Expansion” and Robust Spectral Phase Transitions* ## OverviewThis note develops a purely mathematical, finite-dimensional toy framework in which a “universe” is encoded by a real inner-product space \(V \cong \mathbb{R}^{2N}\) equipped with an internal complex structure \(J\) (so that the imaginary unit is realized as an operator, not an external scalar). A time-dependent generator \(A(s)\in\mathrm{End}(V)\) drives the evolution\[\Psi'(s)=A(s)\Psi(s),\qquad S(s):=\mathrm{sym}(A(s))=\tfrac12(A(s)+A(s)^\top),\]and the observer only accesses a *slice sector* \(V_4\) inside a decomposition \(V=V_4\oplus V_x\). The observable is the slice energy\[Q_4(s)=\|\psi_4(s)\|^2,\qquad \Psi(s)=(\psi_4(s),\psi_x(s)).\]From this single observable, the observer forms kinematic tags\[\widehat{\theta}_4(s)=\tfrac12\frac{d}{ds}\log Q_4(s),\qquad \widehat{\alpha}_4(s)=\frac{d}{ds}\widehat{\theta}_4(s),\]interpreting “acceleration-like” behavior as the inference \(\widehat{\alpha}_4(s)>0\). A central theme is *non-identifiability*: many distinct generators (and hidden-sector mechanisms) can produce the same slice time series. “Cosmic expansion” is therefore treated as an internally assigned label, not an ontological primitive. ## Closed results (v1.7)- **Observer-level non-identifiability.** Formal observational equivalence relations are defined: generators \(A,\widetilde A\) are equivalent if they induce identical slice data \(Q_4(\cdot)\) (optionally with derived \(\widehat{\theta}_4,\widehat{\alpha}_4\)).- **Mixing-to-acceleration mechanism.** A state-level mixing ratio \[ r(s):=\frac{\|\psi_x(s)\|}{\|\psi_4(s)\|}\quad(\|\psi_4(s)\|>0) \] is introduced, and the chain “hidden-sector growth \(\Rightarrow r'(s)>0 \Rightarrow \widehat{\alpha}_4(s)>0\)” is made explicit under a positive alignment channel.- **Explicit high-probability control of \(r'(s)>0\).** Under (i) within-band typicality (pUIC), (ii) a coupling regime controlling cross-block norms, and (iii) a sector-isotropy / Rayleigh-quotient concentration input (RQC), one obtains exponential-tail probability bounds ensuring a positive drift of \(\log r(s)\) whenever a trace-advantage margin holds.- **Closed-form short-window certification.** A short-interval, grid-based certification theorem gives an explicit lower bound for observing a positive acceleration-like tag on a window \(J\): \[ \mathbb{P}\Big(\exists s\in J:\widehat{\alpha}_4(s)\ge a/2\Big)\ \ge\ 1-(N+1)\Big[\pi+\Delta_{\mathrm{high}}/\tau\Big], \qquad \pi=\pi_4+\pi_x, \] where \(\pi_4,\pi_x\) are explicit exponential tails (dimension-dependent), and \(\Delta_{\mathrm{high}}/\tau\) quantifies band-average mixing deficit versus extraction tolerance.- **Assumption dashboard.** A camera-ready “assumption map” table records what is assumed, how it is labeled, and where it is used (to separate deterministic identities from modeling inputs). ## What is new in v1.7- **Event stability (main track).** Big-Bang-like events are presented as *robust spectral windows* (not point events), designed to be stable under perturbations and compatible with transfer between \(S=\mathrm{sym}(A)\) and \(A\) under a controlled skew cost.- **BB2 strengthening (two-sided proximity).** A strengthened “sign/phase” event is added: two-sided proximity to zero on the spectrum of \(S(s)\) implies a nearby gap collapse / collision window, yielding a clean sufficient condition that connects BB2-type behavior to BB1/BB3-type collision diagnostics.- **Consistency pass.** Conventions/terminology/notation are standardized to reduce reader ambiguity (slice vs hidden, interpenetration vs mixing, fixed symbols for \(S,K,r,\Delta_{\mathrm{tr}},\mathcal{I}_{\mathrm{bal}}^{\mathrm{high}}\), and canonical re-use of the main certification bound). ## Scope & non-toy statusThis manuscript is intentionally a *mathematical toy program*. It does **not** claim to model physical cosmology. Instead it isolates a logically precise question:- what can (and cannot) be inferred about global dynamics from a severely restricted observation channel? The framework is nonetheless “nontrivial” in a mathematical sense: it couples- operator decompositions \(A=S+K\),- spectral/band diagnostics (interpenetration indices and typicality),- high-probability Rayleigh-quotient concentration,- and short-window certification boundsinto a single modular pipeline: **engine \(\rightarrow\) inference \(\rightarrow\) certification**. ## Program closure and targets (next steps)Natural extensions supported by the current architecture:- **Sharper probability models.** Replace isotropy/RQC inputs by alternative randomness models (e.g., structured ensembles, deterministic pseudorandom criteria, or explicit mixing dynamics).- **Event taxonomy.** Expand robust BB windows via additional stable diagnostics (e.g., resolvent growth probes or pseudospectral radii) while preserving transfer under skew cost.- **Multi-observable observers.** Study identifiability changes when the observer also sees additional functionals beyond \(Q_4(s)\) (or derivative-free surrogates).- **Numerical certification.** Replace placeholder plots with experiments that validate the predicted scaling of \(\pi_4,\pi_x\) and the trade-off \(\Delta_{\mathrm{high}}/\tau\) in finite dimensions.
