Interface Projection Realism: A Quantum-Gravity Unification Framework Based on Resource Competition and Dimensional Phase Transitions – A Conceptual Framework and Research Programme
Abstract
This paper proposes a research programme named “Interface Projection Realism”, aiming to open a novel emergence-based pathway for unifying quantum mechanics and general relativity. The framework posits that the (3+1)-dimensional physical world is not fundamental but emerges as a sta ble, low-dimensional phenomenon projected from a high-dimensional, non local informational-dynamical ontology (termed the “Sea of Potentiality”) through a dynamic projecting interface undergoing “dimensional phase tran sitions”, under the constraint of finite “resource competition”. We introduce two core physical variables: the Interface Permeability Field (Ξ), character izing the efficiency of information flow from the high-dimensional ontology to the low-dimensional phenomenon; and the System Effective Internal Dissipa tion Strength (κeff), which measures both a system’s demand for dissipating perturbations to maintain its classical structure and encodes its internal com plexity. Within this framework, quantum superposition corresponds to the coherent activation of multiple potential information channels under high Ξ; wavefunction collapse is interpreted as an objective phase transition of dynam ical channel locking achieved by a high-κeff observer via resource competition; gravity and spacetime geometry arise from the dynamic distortion of the lo cal Ξ field distribution by the persistent mass-structure demand of material systems. This paper systematically elaborates the philosophical foundation (“Process-Structural Realism”), the three-level ontological model, and the core dynamics. It provides a unified mechanistic narrative for quantum mea surement, macroscopic quantumness, gravity, black hole thermodynamics, and cosmological phenomena. We not only dissect four core challenges facing the framework but also propose concrete countermeasures and mathematical formalization schemes. Crucially, this programme leads to several principled, testable, and unique predictions, offering preliminary quantitative estimates based on existing experimental constraints. This framework anchors a grand unification vision into a developable and quantitatively testable research plan.
