Abstract

This repository contains the engineering design documentation of a walking assistance device developed as part of an academic design project. The work presents the conceptual development, functional requirements, design rationale, and mechanical layout of the device, supported by structured explanations and illustrative figures prepared using SolidWorks and compiled in Word and PDF formats. The walking assistance device is intended to enhance stability and support for individuals with limited mobility, particularly in contexts such as rehabilitation and assisted walking. The design emphasizes simplicity, ergonomic considerations, and feasibility from a mechanical and manufacturing perspective. This documentation is shared for academic and educational purposes. It may serve as a reference for engineering students, instructors, and researchers interested in assistive technology, mobility aid design, and systematic product development methodologies. The repository does not include physical prototyping, experimental testing, or clinical validation.
