Abstract

This four-part series provides a structural analysis of the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer Conjecture (BSD), one of the seven Millennium Prize Problems. Part I: Foundations and Problem Statement - presents the core BSD conjecture and identifies four fundamental mathematical problems. Part II: Interdisciplinary Perspectives - examines BSD through the lens of physics, information theory, and complex systems. Part III: Research Fronts and Strategies - catalogs 12 active research directions and proposes methodological approaches. Part IV: Synthesis and Future Directions - integrates the analysis and outlines potential paths toward resolution. The papers emphasize structural analysis over claimed solutions, examining implicit assumptions in current approaches.
