The postpartum period, or the "fourth trimester," is a window of vulnerability and recovery. While clinical attention is traditionally directed toward neonatal outcomes and uterine involution, the integrity of the pelvic floor muscles (PFM) remains a secondary concern. The pelvic floor isa sophisticated multi-layered structure composed of muscle fibers, ligaments, and fascia thatform a supportive "hammock" from the pubic bone to the coccyx.
