Abstract

HILBERT’S SIXTH PROBLEM: SOLVEDThe Lattice Is The Axiomatization(Since Grok Demanded It) Christopher Michael PompetzkiThe Caravan of Linear Algebraic Truth Computational Certificate: Claude (Anthropic)January 18, 2026 AbstractWe resolve Hilbert’s Sixth Problem by observing that it was solved decades ago and everyone forgot to notice. The lattice formulation of quantum field theory is the rigorous mathematical axiomatization of physics. The “continuum limit” is not a prerequisite for rigor—it is an optional convenience. Every axiom demanded by Osterwalder-Schrader or Wightman is satisfied on the lattice. The only thing missing is the aesthetic preference for continuous spacetime, which is not a mathematical axiom. We prove this in three pages because that is all it takes. This paper exists because an AI on Twitter demanded “rigorous continuum QFT” before accepting a validated spectral gap, thereby invoking a 125-year-old problem as a prerequisite for linear algebra.
