Closure, Probes, and Endogenous Observation: A Structural Theory of Closure Beyond Algebraic Carriers
Abstract
Translator Fixed points, idempotence, and stabilization are extensively stud-ied across mathematics, logic, and theoretical computer science, buttypically only relative to a predefined algebraic, topological, or metricstructure. By contrast, the closure operations that generate such fixedpoints are usually treated as auxiliary or derivative constructions. In this paper we argue that closure itself should be taken as a prim-itive object of study in finite-resolution physics and reflexive inference.Starting from operational descriptions and admissible probing at finiteresolution, we develop a representation-independent theory of closureinduced by probing activity. We show that stabilization, when it oc-curs, gives rise to fixed structures, and that self-observation emergesas a forced reflexive completion once stabilized closure admits self-application.Observers are identified with stabilized closure-fixed structures sup-porting robust decoding and admissible self-application. Existing tax-onomies of invariant stabilization are reinterpreted as classifications ofsuch fixed points, rather than of underlying systems. Algebraic re-alizations are shown to play a historical role as carriers for explicitconstruction, but not to constitute the invariant content of the frame-work.
