ATP biosynthetic defects and the mitochondria during periods of active disease in Crohn's Disease.
Abstract
Together with our recent discovery of ACSL4 activation during periods of disease exacerbation in humans with Crohn's Disease, we present a hypothesis that suggests lipid peroxidation during ferroptosis is an integral component of immune activation in inflammatory bowel disease.
