Magnetically Guided Recycling of Accretion Power in M87*: A Tension-Based Interpretation of Jet and Radio Emission
Abstract
We present an independent, phenomenological interpretation of the energy budget of the supermassive black hole in M87*, focusing on the role of magnetic fields in maintaining, guid- ing, and recycling accretion power into jet and radio emission. Using published constraints on the Bondi accretion rate, nuclear X-ray luminosity, and jet kinetic power, we show that the bulk of the available accretion energy does not emerge as thermal radiation but is redi- rected into magnetically dominated outflows. We interpret this as a physical realization of a “recycling” mechanism: high-frequency, strongly compressed modes near the horizon are maintained by the magnetic field, dynamically smoothed by an underlying tension-limited substrate, and re-emitted predominantly as large-scale radio and kinetic power. This note does not introduce any new particle species or adjustable parameters; it re-reads existing data within a tension-based framework already documented in previous Zenodo reports by the author. The goal is conceptual clarity and falsifiable statements, not a replacement of General Relativity or GRMHD.
