Betelgeuse and the Disentanglement of Phase Events: Predicting the Fate of Alpha Orionis
Abstract
Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis) provides a unique laboratory for testing predictions of the Webb Mechanical Metric (WMM) framework. This study applies the complete causal chain—Baryonic Accumulation →Action Collapse → Disentanglement of Phase Events (DoPE)—to predict Betelgeuse's fate. Under WMM, stars possess Fe/Ni cores from formation; hydrogen fusion occurs in the envelope. Stellar death results from contamination saturation, not fuel exhaustion. Betelgeuse has reached contamination saturation: ~8-10 million years of baryonic debris accumulation has driven opacity increases forcing expansion to ~700-1000 R , causing Action collapse by a factor of 10⁷ to 10⁸. Surface Mass Ejection (SME) events represent ☉ purge attempts—efforts to shed contamination and survive. However, evidence suggests these purges are insufficient. DoPE Mode 1 (Core Stall) would result in successful purging and survival as a white dwarf—a living star fusing clean hydrogen. DoPE Mode 2 (Core Liberation) results in envelope ejection, fusion termination, and exposure of the spinning Fe/Ni core as a pulsar. The Action-collapsed envelope configuration indicates Betelgeuse will undergo Core Liberation: the envelope is too diffuse to fracture the core (ruling out Mode 3/magnetar) but retains sufficient coupling for violent ejection (ruling out survival). The companion Siwarha may experience second generation succession through ejecta accretion, following the Sirius A/B paradigm.
