LOCAL ENERGY–MOMENTUM EXCHANGE AND THE NON-CAUSAL STATUS OF GLOBAL QUANTUM FIELDS IN COSMOLOGY
Abstract
This paper examines whether globally defined quantum fields or cosmological quantum states can function as physically enforcing mechanisms and concludes that they cannot. Using a strict logical-necessity, mechanism-only framework, it shows that all physical causation reduces to local energy–momentum exchange with reciprocal back-reaction between contiguous regions, while global quantum fields and states serve only as descriptive summaries of localized interactions. By applying enforcement and removal tests, the paper demonstrates that removing global quantum descriptions leaves all physical interaction intact, whereas removing local exchange collapses physical behavior entirely. The result is a clear separation between physical enforcement and descriptive structure, establishing that global quantum fields are non-causal when extended to cosmological scale.
