The Standard Model (Lambda-CDM) attempts to resolve the observed acceleration by postulating “Dark Energy,” an arbitrary scalar field with no known physical origin. This monograph proposes a fundamental ontological shift: The vacuum is not a static void, but a Viscoelastic Medium. By modeling spacetime as a Kelvin-Voigt solid possessing both Elasticity and Viscosity, we demonstrate that the observed “expansion” is phenomenologically identical to a mechanical stress-relaxation process. We derive a modified Friedmann acceleration equation where the Cosmological Constant is replaced by a Bulk Viscosity term. This proves that cosmic acceleration is not driven by a mysterious repulsive energy, but by the internal friction of the vacuum lattice preventing collapse. Key Theoretical Developments: * Viscosity as Dark Energy: We demonstrate that a positive viscosity coefficient naturally generates the negative pressure required for acceleration.
