Implementation of the Communication, Information, and Education (KIE) Program by Posyandu Cadres in Accelerating Stunting Reduction
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Communication, Information, and Education (KIE) Program by Family Assistance Team (TPK) cadres in accelerating stunting reduction in Suwaloh Village, Bojonegoro Regency. A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews with village officials, health workers, TPK cadres, and families at risk of stunting. Data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of the KIE program is supported by clear policy communication, adequate human resources, structured task division, and consistent bureaucratic procedures. TPK cadres play a central role as educators, facilitators, and motivators in promoting nutrition, parenting practices, maternal health, and child growth monitoring. However, several barriers were identified, including low community participation, limited awareness, and program activities that were not always aligned with the needs of mothers with young children. Overall, the KIE program has contributed positively to strengthening community knowledge and preventive behavior related to stunting, although greater adaptation and innovation are still required. Strengthening cross-sector collaboration, community engagement strategies, and culturally responsive approaches is essential to enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of stunting prevention programs at the village level.
