Produto Didático Multissensorial: Ferramenta de Inclusão de Ensino na Área
Abstract
The present article presents the development and application of a Multisensory Teaching Material, aimed at promoting inclusive pedagogical practices in the teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Aligned with the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the principles of Inclusive Education (Brazil, 2008), the material is designed to meet the needs of high school students with visual impairments. The proposal integrated a multisensory resource composed of a sensory panel, initially implemented as a pilot project in mathematics classes at a public school in Ceará. The project was grounded in the assumptions of Vygotsky’s (2007) social constructivism, the principles of Universal Design for Learning (CAST, 2018), and the STEM approach as an integrative and transdisciplinary axis of scientific and technological knowledge (Bybee, 2013; Fonseca et al., 2020). The results obtained indicate increased engagement of visually impaired students in hands-on mathematics classes.
