Assessment of microbial contamination growth in ventilation systems at varying system parameters
Abstract
The primary objective of this scientific project is to investigate the current level of microbial contamination in the air ducts of selected public buildings. This will help us understand the current situation and assess the significance of the problem. Additionally, we aim to develop a comprehensive methodology for this assessment. The project will include research conducted in a controlled environment with varying air parameters. Specifically, different air temperatures and relative humidity levels will be set in the existing ventilation system within a climatic chamber. This controlled setup will enable us to analyze how temperature, relative humidity, and air flow rate influence microbial contamination levels in air ducts. Furthermore, the study will compare various air duct materials (such as galvanized steel and plastic) and shapes (including round, rectangular, and flexible) to determine their impact on microbial contamination.
