Abstract

We investigate whether category-theoretic coherence requirements impose structural constraintson physical theories. Starting from cyclic adjoint systems, we prove an arithmetic obstructiontheorem: all primitive systems (n, k) with k ≡ −1 (mod n) necessarily collapse to triviality. Thisestablishes (5, 2) as the unique minimal non-trivial primitive configuration for n ≤ 5. Pentagongeometry yields the golden ratio φ = (1 + √5)/2 as a fundamental scaling constant satisfying φ2 =φ+1. The source-target factorization produces exactly 22 morphisms with 10 coherence constraints, yielding 12 effective degrees of freedom. We observe structural correspondences with Standard Modelparameters: heavy quark mass ratios agree with predictions of the form mi/mj = φnij at percent-level precision, lepton ratios follow heptadic structure with ratio ξ5 ≈ 1.802, and topological countinggives α−1ref = 7×22−17 = 137. The critical falsifiable prediction md/mu = φ2 = 2.618±0.05 becomestestable with lattice QCD by 2027. While we cannot claim these correspondences are necessarilyphysical law, the dimensional and numerical agreements suggest that categorical coherence mayprovide non-empirical constraints on admissible physical structures.
