Abiogenesis and the Mathematics of Water A Quantum Solution to the Origin of Life and Extraterrestrial Biology
Abstract
This paper proposes a unified geometric framework in which the emergence and architecture of life arise as a necessary consequence of fundamental mathematical constants rather than as a probabilistic chemical accident. Building on the ENSO framework and the derivation of the dimensionless constant Z0 = φ³ / RG² ≈ 24, the work argues that water’s liquid-state structure provides a geometric template that constrains biological organization across scales. The analysis shows that liquid water forms persistent 24-molecule tetrakaidecahedral cages with 12 pentagonal faces and φ-harmonic hydrogen bonding, establishing a stable geometric scaffold. This scaffold is proposed to explain:(1) the universal selection of exactly 20 amino acids via dodecahedral geometry,(2) protein folding constraints governed by φ and ψ dihedral angles, and(3) golden-ratio proportions in DNA (34 Å / 21 Å ≈ φ). The framework further integrates recent independent information-theoretic results showing a hidden genetic-code capacity of ≈ φ bits per codon, providing a mechanistic explanation for why the golden ratio appears in genomic architecture. These independent lines of evidence converge on a common geometric origin rooted in water’s φ-based structure. Rather than treating life as a contingent outcome of favorable chemistry, the paper advances the hypothesis that biological structure is a geometric inevitability emerging from the interaction of water, carbon chemistry, and the transcendental constants π, φ, and e. The work concludes with explicit, testable predictions in molecular biology, prebiotic chemistry, and astrobiology, and situates biological organization within a broader π-φ-e geometric framework that also appears in fundamental physics. Version 3 includes two new Python scripts that demonstrate Clathrate Self-Assembly and Cage Formation and Amino Acid Formation Under Geometric Constraints Version 4 includes one new Python scripts that extends the framework and Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate geometric quantization in amino acid precursor assembly, with bond formation clustering at octahedral values (8 bonds, p < 10⁻¹⁴) consistent with the predicted Z₀=24 framework. Version 5 adds a new computational appendix and full perturbation-validation scripts demonstrating that discrete clustering attractors converge reproducibly on Z0=24Z_0 = 24Z0=24 under unbiased perturbation–reformation testing. All scripts and outputs required for independent verification are included. Version 9: The main difference is a factual correction in the abstract. v5 said the Monte Carlo simulations demonstrated a 2–3× acceleration of amino acid formation, while v9 now says the extended runs show both random and ϕ\phiϕ-cage modes converging on the same 7–8 bond attractor with a 1.01× ratio, plus the clathrate result of 15 cage waters / 62.5% at 500 ps. Apart from this the text has hopefully been improved.
